Clause 10. The procedural rules set forth in this regulation apply to both competition categories.

Competition

Clause 11. The competition will have a mandatory theme and will be divided into two stages: “Elimination Auditions” and “Grand Final.”

Clause 11.a. Attendees will first complete a form and submit a video for an elimination audition through an online form. They must present their choreography and music in this video. The Brasil FurFest team will select, without assigning scores, up to 6 (six) attendees per category based on their judgment of the best auditions to compete in the Grand Final. The Brasil FurFest team will attempt to maintain an equal number of attendees in each category, totaling up to a maximum of 12 (twelve) performances. If there are fewer attendees in one category, judges may fill the remaining spots with attendees from the other category.

Clause 11.b. The Grand Final will take place on Saturday evening of the event in the Main Hall, with a maximum of 12 (twelve) performances (as per Clause 11.a).

Clause 11.c. The winner(s) will be the attendee(s) who achieve the highest score among competitors in their respective category, according to the evaluation criteria in Clause 12.

Judging

Clause 12. There will be three evaluation criteria, resulting in three scores: Creativity, Execution, and Entertainment;

Clause 12.a. Creativity will assess the inventive and artistic ability of the attendee(s) regarding choreography, gestures, and movements;

Clause 12.b. Clause 12.b. Execution will evaluate the performer(s)’ stage presence in terms of gestures, movements, and synchronization in accordance with the chosen outfit(s) for the performance. Dancing in place without making use of the stage space will result in a 0.5 deduction from the final score; and

Clause 12.c. Entertainment will assess the attendee(s)’ ability to create a performance from their choreography that is engaging for judges and the audience.

Clause 13. The list of attendees and their performance order will be announced online up to two weeks before the event, determined by a random draw.

Clause 13.a. The order of performances is subject to change depending on the event schedule.

Clause 14. All attendees must undergo a check of props, accessories, and makeup during the audition and/or Grand Final rehearsal by a BFF staff member, under penalty of Clause 22.

Clause 15. The scores described in Clause 11 will be assigned at the end of each performance by a panel of 3 judges in complete confidentiality to a BFF staff member present at the location.

Clause 15.a. After submitting their scores, judges will have a maximum of 45 (forty-five) seconds each to provide comments on the performance they just watched.

Clause 16. The final score will be calculated as the arithmetic average of the scores given by the judging panel (Clause 15), based on the performance presented using the submitted music (Clause 7.d).

Clause 17. Attendee(s) must be present at the venue at the time of their performance and after all performances are completed, when the winner or tie-break requirement will be announced, under penalty of immediate disqualification.

Clause 18. The final score is final and will be calculated throughout the competition, with the winner(s) announced after all performances are completed, except in the case of a tie-break (Clause 17).

Clause 18.a. The final ranking and respective scores of each attendee will be posted in a location designated by the organization during the event and later on the Brasil FurFest 2026 website and social media.

Clause 19. In the event of a tie between two or more attendees, the tie-breaker will be the highest score in the following criteria, in order: entertainment, creativity, and execution. If the tie persists, the judges will deliberate to determine the best attendee.

Awards

Clause 20. Winners of each category will receive a trophy and a basic registration voucher for Brasil FurFest 2027. Attendees placing second and third in each category will only have their scores announced at the end of the competition.

Clause 20.a. Additional prizes may be announced during the Dance Competition.

Clause 20.b. Prizes are personal and non-transferable, have symbolic value, and will not be exchanged for cash under any circumstances.

PENALTIES

Clause 21. If the submitted music does not comply with the rules and the issues are not corrected within the timeframe set in Clause 8, the Dance Competition registration will be summarily and irrevocably canceled.

Clause 22. Attendee(s) who refuse to present the props to be used during the performance, under the terms of Clause 14, will have their registration(s) in the Dance Competition canceled.

Clause 23. Attendee(s) who fail to appear on stage when called for their performance will be automatically disqualified from the competition, and this will be recorded in the final list as a withdrawal.

Clause 24. If attendee(s) are called for a tie-break performance and do not appear, they will be ranked last in the tie-break criteria.
