Brasil FurFest Regulations

Brasil FurFest wishes to continue to be a place with a friendly and respectful atmosphere for members of the furry community and their supporters. This regulation is the guarantee that we all seek a problem-free environment, whose rules set out here are strictly followed by the organization.
The regulation may undergo further changes, with attendees tacitly accepting it and committing to follow the rules set out therein.
SECTION 1 – ABOUT THE EVENT
1.1 – Brasil FurFest is a private non-profit charity event in convention format, organized by the Associação dos Artistas e Apreciadores das Artes Antropomórficas, CNPJ 49.037.057/0001-54. It gathers fans of anthropomorphic art, also known as “furries,” for a weekend of activities and interaction, as well as the promotion of this type of art. Brasil FurFest aims to raise funds for the SOS Vida Pet Litoral Social Project, which supports animal shelters for stray pets in the Baixada Santista region.
1.2 – As a condition of attending Brasil FurFest, attendees implicitly agree to this general regulation and any specific regulations published on the event’s website.
1.3 – This regulation applies to the hotel’s common areas and any other places where Brasil FurFest-related activities are held.
1.4 – Brasil FurFest is a non-profit event (as registered with the Receita Federal and other relevant authorities) organized by a group of volunteer organizers, who will be referred to as “staff” in this regulation.
1.5 – Brasil FurFest is open to those who pay the registration fee, hereinafter referred to as “attendees.” During the entire period of the event and in all non-public areas designated by the hotel for the event, attendees must wear their identification credential, referred to as a “badge,” and/or identification wristbands at all times.
1.6 – For the purposes of this regulation, adults are those who are 18 years of age or older by midnight on the first day of the convention, and minors are those who are 17 years or younger at midnight on the same day.
1.7 – Activities such as contests with winners or prizes are purely recreational and informal, aimed at encouraging social interaction among attendees.
1.7.a – Trophies and/or other prizes awarded have sentimental value only and do not represent any commercial value, nor may they be exchanged for money.
SECTION 2 – RIGHTS
General Provisions
2.1 – All attendees who have paid the registration fee or have been invited by the Brasil FurFest staff have the right to:
2.1.a – Free access to the hotel’s convention center on Friday (after the event opens, according to the schedule), Saturday, and Sunday, as well as other non-public spaces designated for the event, upon presentation of their badge and wristband;
2.1.b – Receive a full copy of this regulation, along with other gifts according to the registration tier;
2.1.c – Participate in activities organized by Brasil FurFest.
2.2 – All attendees, staff, and hotel employees have the mutual right and obligation to treat each other kindly. In case of any issues regarding treatment, the matter must be reported immediately to any staff member.
2.3 – All attendees, regardless of age, have the right to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at no cost, who will be categorized as a “companion” as defined in 2.3.b.
2.3.a – For minors not living with their parents, the companion may be a legal guardian or custodian, provided they present an official custody document (original or authenticated copy).
2.3.b – The companion benefit is exclusive to parents and legal guardians. Other relatives are not eligible for this benefit.
2.3.c – Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian or a person with proper authorization, including but not limited to relatives other than the parents.
2.3.d – Under no circumstances will Brasil FurFest allow minors to attend the event without being accompanied by one of the individuals described in 2.3.c.
2.3.e – Minors and their companions (even if of legal age) are not allowed in areas designated for adult-only activities, including any event held on the night of July 18, 2026 (Saturday), and the early hours of July 19, 2026 (Sunday).
2.4 – Brasil FurFest authorizes the non-commercial use of any material created by attendees during the event for the purpose of promoting the event, provided the edition of Brasil FurFest is properly credited.
2.4.a – For commercial use or personal financial gain, prior authorization from the staff must be obtained (via email to [email protected]), and credits must be included in the final product.
2.4.b – The recording and/or later broadcasting of panels and workshops must be approved by the speakers before they begin.
2.5 – Parents, guardians with valid custody documents, or relatives authorized by the staff with written permission from the minor’s parents have the right and obligation to accompany minor attendees, under the “companion” condition, and are exempt from the registration fee if registered within the deadline.
2.5.a – Companions receive a “companion” badge, which only grants access to the hotel convention center and the fursuit lounge (if the attendee is a fursuiter).
2.5.b – If the companion is accompanying an attendee with a “VIF” experience package or higher, they may access the “VIF Lounge” and the VIF lunch area in the hotel restaurant, but meals are not included unless paid for separately.
2.5.b (duplicate) – Companions are entitled to the same discounts offered to attendees in stores, restaurants, and businesses partnered with Brasil FurFest and officially promoted during the event or through official channels.
2.5.c – Companions are not allowed to participate in interactive activities, receive prizes, appear in official photos, or take part in Brasil FurFest activities unless otherwise announced by staff.
Brasil FurFest Rights
2.6 – Brasil FurFest may use, free of charge and without prior notice, any material produced by attendees, guests, or credentialed individuals during the event.
2.6.a – This right includes materials produced during external activities, such as the Fursuit Parade and the Super Sponsor Lunch.
2.6.b – Brasil FurFest will give proper credit to the authors if their materials are used as per clause 2.7.
2.7 – Staff will record videos and photos of attendees before, during, and potentially after the event. Attendees give tacit, irrevocable, and indefinite permission for the use of their image by Brasil FurFest unless they explicitly request otherwise during check-in or before the event starts.
SECTION 3 – OBLIGATIONS
3.1 – Attendees must respect the hotel’s rules of conduct, which are made available to all guests by the hotel.
3.2 – Attendees must always behave respectfully toward the staff, other attendees, hotel guests, hotel employees, guests, speakers, and sponsors.
3.3 – Attendees must follow all the event’s and hotel’s safety instructions, including those from staff, firefighters, or security personnel.
3.4 – Attendees must keep their badge and wristband on at all times while inside the event premises.
3.5 – Attendees are responsible for all their personal belongings brought to the event.
3.6 – Attendees must inform the staff immediately if they witness or are victims of any act of violence, discrimination, harassment, or other situations that jeopardize the physical or moral safety of anyone at the event.
3.7 – If the attendee is a fursuiter, they must follow the hygiene rules and time limits in the fursuit lounge, as posted on-site.
SECTION 4 – PROHIBITIONS
4.1 – The following actions are strictly prohibited at Brasil FurFest:
4.1.a – Physical, verbal, or moral aggression toward other attendees, staff, guests, hotel employees, or other individuals in the event area;
4.1.b – The use of controlled substances or illegal drugs, whether inside or outside the hotel;
4.1.c – The display, sale, or distribution of any pornographic material or with adult content, unless it is part of an area restricted to attendees aged 18 or older, as long as such content is clearly labeled and monitored by the staff;
4.1.d – Any sexual activity or nudity in the event’s public areas or within the hotel;
4.1.e – Consuming alcoholic beverages in the hotel convention center unless they are provided by the hotel or authorized by the hotel’s management;
4.1.f – Disrespecting the spaces designated for specific activities, such as entering restricted areas or entering adult-only spaces if under 18 years old;
4.1.g – Harassment, stalking, or any conduct that makes others uncomfortable or unsafe;
4.1.h – Any commercial activity within the event without prior authorization from the staff.
SECTION 5 – PENALTIES
5.1 – If an attendee violates any rule in this regulation or engages in conduct that disturbs the event or puts others at risk, the staff may take one or more of the following actions:
5.1.a – Issue a verbal or written warning;
5.1.b – Remove the attendee from a specific activity;
5.1.c – Remove the attendee from the event temporarily or permanently;
5.1.d – Cancel the attendee’s registration without refund;
5.1.e – Ban the attendee from future editions of the event;
5.1.f – Contact the authorities if the case involves a criminal act or if the safety of anyone at the event is at risk.
5.2 – Penalties will be applied by the staff after analysis of the facts. The staff’s decision is final and non-appealable.
SECTION 6 – FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
6.1 – By registering for Brasil FurFest, all attendees automatically and unconditionally agree to abide by this regulation.
6.2 – This regulation may be updated at any time by the staff to include necessary corrections or clarifications.
6.3 – Any questions regarding the interpretation or application of these rules should be directed to the staff through the official communication channels or during the event.
6.4 – This regulation is available on the official Brasil FurFest website (www.brasilfurfest.com.br) and at the convention app.
1. General rules of conduct and dress
1.1 – The use of fursuits, kigurumis, costumes and cosplays are permitted (as long as they respect decorum and common sense), in the convention center and in all public access areas of the hotel where Brasil FurFest activities will be carried out.
1.2 – It is mandatory for everyone, in all public access areas, to wear clothing that covers private parts and prevents them from being visible even if covered by some type of fabric, as determined by current legislation.
1.3 – The use of heavy makeup and/or body paint is prohibited without prior consent/permission from the staff, so that measures can be taken to avoid damage to the property of the hotel and other attendees.
1.4 – Fetish costumes and/or demonstrations of fetishes are prohibited, even if they are just part of the composition or the entirety of a costume or costume.
1.5 – Costumes or objects that make racist, phobic, sexual, religious, creed, ideological or political references are prohibited.
1.6 – Any types of costumes, clothing and accessories that suggest, show or simulate, with designs or relief, intimate parts or, even, that have a sexual connotation are strictly prohibited.
1.7 – Collars and harnesses are allowed, but never combined with a leash, chain or any other similar object used to restrict mobility.
1.8 – Anthropomorphic masks are permitted as long as they are unaccompanied by other accessories related to fetish practice.
1.9 – Underwear may not be worn in such a way that it is visible or partially visible, or even visible through the item of clothing.
1.10 – Knitwear, jumpsuits, zentais and other full-body clothing are only permitted if it is not possible to view the private parts or their outline.
1.11 – It is prohibited to display photos or any graphic material with human or anthropomorphic pornography (yiff) in public places, in the areas designated for Brasil FurFest and in the furry bazaar.
1.12 – Sexual behavior or behavior that goes beyond the limit of public display of affection is prohibited.
1.13 – Physical contact between adults and minors that goes beyond the limit of a friendly/fraternal hug or greeting kisses is prohibited.
1.14 – Firearms, pressure weapons, bladed weapons, brass knuckles or any utensil that causes injury to others are completely prohibited.
1.14.a – As determined by the Brazilian Army, airsofts are considered pressure weapons, and are expressly prohibited within the locations where Brasil FurFest takes place;
1.14.b – Replicas, simulacra or toy weapons that make up a character’s costume must be presented in advance to the staff at the time of accreditation for inspection and release.
1.14.c – Replicas or toy weapons are not permitted inside the conference rooms, corridors and lobby of the hotel.
1.15 – Scissors, needles, nails, pins and other sharp utensils are prohibited in the convention center lounge and in the hotel’s common areas, unless they are properly stored together with other materials for repairing fursuits and/or other clothing/accessories and are used solely for this purpose within the room reserved for fursuiters (Fursuit Lounge).
1.16 – Games involving simulated fights (including simulated fighting with swords and fake weapons) are not permitted within the areas where Brasil FurFest takes place.
1.17 – In case of any doubts regarding the rules established here, the attendee undertakes to clarify them with the Brasil FurFest staff in advance.
2. Dress code at times reserved for adults
2.1 – During activities aimed at adults at Hotel convention center, the rules will be in force of clothing in chapter 2 of these Regulations.
2.1.a – For all hypotheses not provided for in this chapter 2, the provisions of Chapter 1 apply.
2.1.b – Outside Hotel convention center, including the elevators, the rules of Chapter 1 remain in force. attendees must have means of concealing clothing that does not comply with the rules of Chapter 1 outside the designated area.
2.2 – It remains mandatory to wear clothing that covers private parts and prevents them from being visible, as provided for in rule 1.2.
2.3 – To wear tight-fitting clothing (such as, but not limited to, zentals and latex jumpsuits), it is necessary to use a sex cover, “tucking” or other means to hide private parts.
2.3.a – The use of fetishistic costumes is permitted, as long as they do not violate the rules
2.3.b – The use of collars and harnesses combined with a leash, chain, rope or any other similar object used to restrict mobility is permitted, as long as they do not pose risks to those involved and/or impede the movement of other attendees through the event.
2.4 – Demonstrations of fetishistic practices must not, under any circumstances, involve explicit sexual practices or practices that pose risks to the attendees involved or third parties, under penalty of expulsion from the event.
2.5 – Any types of costumes, clothing and accessories that suggest, show or simulate, with designs or relief, private parts remain strictly prohibited.
2.5.a – Fursuit accessories such as sheaths are an exception to the above rule, as long as they can be removed and hidden for transport in the hotel’s common areas.
2.6 – Underwear cannot be worn in such a way that it is visible or partially visible, or even visible through the item of clothing, as per rule 1.9.
2.6.a – The use of underwear as fursuit accessories is an exception to the rule above, as long as they can be removed and hidden for transport in the hotel’s common areas.
2.7 – It is permitted to display photos or any graphic material containing human or anthropomorphic pornography (yiff) in the areas provided for in rule 2.1, but such material must be hidden outside of such specific environments.
2.8 – Explicit sexual behavior (according to rule 2.4) or behavior that goes beyond the limit of public display of affection is prohibited.
2.9 – In case of any doubt about the regularity of a particular dress or fetishistic practice, the attendee undertakes to consult a staff member in advance for guidance.
